Mind Discovery Center – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

About Mind Discovery

What ages do you serve?

We provide individualized programs for first graders (6 years old) through adults, customized to each learner’s cognitive, sensory, and academic needs.

Who can benefit from Mind Discovery programs?

We support children and adults with:
● ADHD or attention challenges
● Dyslexia and other learning differences
● Autism spectrum or neurodivergent profiles
● Sensory processing delays
● Memory, comprehension, and executive function struggles
● Emotional regulation or learning-related anxiety
● Reading, writing, or math difficulties

What makes Mind Discovery different?

We follow the science of how the brain learns. Our evidence-based approach combines movement, sensory integration, attention training, neurofeedback, and cognitive development to address the root causes of learning challenges. By engaging multiple areas of the brain simultaneously, we help students build stronger neural connections, improve learning efficiency, and enhance emotional regulation.

What is Mind Discovery?

Mind Discovery is a neurodevelopmental and educational therapy center dedicated to helping children, teens, and adults strengthen the brain-based skills essential for learning, focus, memory, and emotional regulation. Our goal is to

Results & Outcomes

How do I know what to do?

We maintain ongoing communication to keep families fully informed and engaged in their child’s progress. This includes weekly and monthly progress reports, detailed data tracking cognitive, academic, and sensory growth, and scheduled parent meetings for personalized updates. Families also receive direct emails, newsletters with program highlights and tips, instructional videos through Google Classroom, and updates via our social media channels. Our goal is to ensure parents always have clear, actionable information about their child’s development and learning journey.

Do you provide parent coaching?

Yes. Parents are an essential part of the learning process. We offer personalized consultations, practical home strategies, and ongoing guidance to help reinforce skills between sessions, ensuring that progress continues outside the center and that families feel confident supporting their child’s development.

Can you guarantee results?

While no one can promise a specific outcome, we can guarantee our dedication, expertise, and unwavering support. Parents are the most powerful factor in a student’s success, and when families engage fully—especially during challenging moments—students achieve remarkable growth. Our programs are designed to help students unlock potential and soar beyond expectations, reaching milestones they may never have thought possible.

How do you know it’s working?

We track each student’s growth using assessments, cognitive evaluations, and our internal neurodevelopmental tools to measure both academic and brain-based skills. Families receive clear, monthly reports showing measurable improvements in attention, memory, processing, emotional regulation, and sensory integration, along with ongoing feedback to keep parents fully informed and engaged in their child’s development.

What results can I expect?

Families can see measurable improvements in as little as a few weeks, with significant changes typically emerging around 16 weeks and complete transformation often achieved by 9 months. Progress includes gains in overall brain performance, measured by our internal cognitive and neurodevelopmental instruments, with meaningful improvements in focus, attention, working memory, and cognitive processing. Students also demonstrate enhanced emotional regulation, confidence, and motivation. Visual and auditory processing abilities are strengthened and tracked using data-driven metrics, providing clear evidence of progress over time, including 2–3 years of academic growth. All outcomes are grounded in decades of research in neuroscience, neuroplasticity, and cognitive development, ensuring results are evidence-based, measurable, and individualized to each student’s learning profile.

Programs & Approach

What is Neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback is an evidence-based brain training technique that helps improve focus, attention, memory, and emotional regulation. It benefits students in Mind Recovery (Adults), Discovery Academy (School), and those needing extra support, though it’s typically not used for younger students due to attention demands. Using real-time brainwave monitoring, progress is tracked with data-driven metrics, and results are integrated with cognitive and neurodevelopmental therapy to help students reach their full academic, cognitive, and emotional potential.

Why does the program feel challenging?

The program is designed to build the brain’s capacity. Just as muscles strengthen through exercise, cognitive, sensory, and neurofeedback activities help the brain develop endurance, flexibility, and learning efficiency.

How long are programs, and what’s the schedule?

● Core program: typically 9 months
● Sessions: 2× per week, 45–60 minutes each
● Home practice: short, targeted activities reinforce learning between sessions
● Extensions: 4–6 months optional based on ongoing goals

What is Neurodevelopmental Therapy?

Neurodevelopmental therapy strengthens how the brain organizes and communicates information. By combining movement, balance, sensory integration, and neurofeedback, multiple brain regions are stimulated simultaneously, helping neurons connect more efficiently.

What programs does Mind Discovery offer?

● Neurodevelopmental and brain-based therapy
● Cognitive and attention training
● Academic skill-building and intervention
● Social and emotional learning support
● Neurofeedback training
● Therapy dog–assisted sessions

Mind Discovery Assessment Options

Option 2: Comprehensive Neurological Assessment

This in-depth evaluation provides a medical diagnosis when indicated. Testing sessions are conducted in-person or virtually, typically lasting 4–6 hours (split for comfort). Families receive a comprehensive report with actionable recommendations to support educational accommodations, school choice programs, and targeted interventions.

Option 1: Cognitive, Sensory & Academic Profile (Structure of Intellect)

This assessment identifies the root causes of learning difficulties and DOES NOT provide a medical diagnosis. Families receive a detailed report with strengths, challenges, and actionable strategies.

Discovery Academy Private School

Who is Discovery Academy for?

Families or students seeking individualized learning support that addresses both academic and cognitive development specializing in ADHD, Dyslexia, and Autism.

How does it work?

Discovery Academy begins with a comprehensive evaluation. A personalized support via Zoom, phone, or email and have access to Google Classroom with guided instructional materials and videos.

What is Discovery Academy?

Discovery Academy is our private school extension that combines neurodevelopmental therapy, academic instruction, and neurofeedback for students needing both cognitive intervention and academic support. Discovery Academy is an intelligence based school designed to catch students up quickly, effectively, and will be rolled out in its entirety the fall of 2026 on Discovery Ranch.

ESA Funding & School Choice

What if ESA approval is delayed?

Families can begin services privately and transition to ESA billing once funding is approved in the fall of 2026. Mind Discovery assists with all paperwork to ensure continuity of services.

Can ESA funds be used for services?

Yes. ESA funds may cover assessments, neurodevelopmental therapy, neurofeedback, academic tutoring, and Discovery Academy instruction.

Who qualifies for ESA funding?
