Mind Discovery helps students who are struggling, challenges those that are gifted and gives all students a solid educational foundation for success! Mind Discovery specializes in learning challenges such as dyslexia, ADHD, Executive Function, Auditory and Visual Processing Disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorders and more. Mind Discovery identifies overall intellectual abilities while improving learning abilities. Our unique integrated learning approach integrates the visual, auditory, and sensorimotor systems for maximum success while delivering academic remediation.

Step 1: Identification

Mind Discovery offers a comprehensive and unique solution to student learning struggles, empowering them with the knowledge they need to move forward. By assessing cognitive abilities as well as academics, our powerful system is able to accurately pinpoint problem areas – then provide targeted strategies for success. Our program begins with a multisensory cognitive skills, visual, auditory and physical assessments. The results are reviewed at your post assessment analysis meeting. We will discuss your child’s identified strengths and weaknesses and a plan for integration and remedion. The enrollment process typically begins during this meeting.

Step 2: Integration

Our Building Blocks of Learning Model is designed to stimulate the visual, auditory and sensorimotor systems, allowing students to bridge connections between hemispheres for improved brain processing. By developing neural pathways through physical and mental exercises, we are giving learners the tools they need to create a powerful foundation upon which higher levels of learning can take place. This stage begins the most crucial phase of our brain training process. It is designed to enhance and increase cognition through neuroplasticity. Visual, auditory and physical programs are combined to integrate the senses. Connections between the brain and the body systems are integrated for maximum learning success.

Step 3: Remediation

This stage only begins once Fast ForWord is complete and Primitive Reflexes are integrated. Each student receives an individualized plan which targets specific learning challenges. Our unique approach provides lasting solutions to ensure success to master particular concepts typically related to reading, writing, math, vision and focus.

Step 4: Education

The additional optional stage is advanced cognition through education. The emphasis is placed on Orton-Gillingham, Structured Literacy, Phonograms, Writing, Responding to Literature, and closely matches classroom expectations. The content is selected on standards corresponding to their current grade level. Discovery Academy is an additional 9-month option in which all cognitive and academic programs are delivered simultaneously for maximum success in reaching grade level standards.
