Structure of Intellect

Mind Discovery’s mission is to make learning easier and more accessible for everyone. By utilizing our SOI program, we are able to improve low learning abilities and enhance strong ones. Our comprehensive range of tests and training materials covers grades pre-k to adult, allowing us to identify and address the root causes of learning difficulties.
The Structure Of Intellect (SOI) theory is a scientific approach to understanding human intelligence. It explores how individuals acquire, assimilate, and process information, which forms the foundation of human learning. Dr. Mary Meeker recognized the valuable application of this theory in diagnosing learning difficulties. Through her research, she discovered that specific intellectual abilities are closely connected to fundamental learning processes. Additionally, she found that these intellectual abilities can be developed and enhanced through education and training.

The close connection between assessment and training sets SOI apart. These assessments measure intellectual abilities, while the training materials strengthen weak abilities and boost strong ones, making SOI unique. SOI Systems is built on the belief that empowering individuals with the skills to learn confidently, accurately, and persistently is the key to success.
To address weaknesses and strengthen skills, the next crucial step involves engaging in remedial exercises. SOI provides a comprehensive range of modules for completion. Each module effectively transforms areas of low ability into areas of higher ability. In order to acquire a particular skill, multiple modules are typically required, often three. Some modules can be completed within the span of an hour, while others may demand several hours of dedicated work.
Individuals possess unique learning styles, and it is essential to cater to these preferences. The SOI method focuses on enhancing various cognitive abilities, including cognition, memory, evaluation, convergent production, and creativity, tailored to the individual's dominant learning style. Through this approach, individuals will grasp the concepts effectively and efficiently.
Figural intelligence focuses on tangible information that can be directly perceived through sight, hearing, and touch. This type of intelligence primarily involves visual and spatial understanding, but can also encompass auditory and kinesthetic elements. Notably, young children often possess figural learning abilities.
Symbolic intelligence focuses on processing notational information. Unlike figural information that is tangible, symbolic information is abstract.
Semantic content refers to the understanding of concepts and ideas. It plays a crucial role in education, particularly in schools. Students who excel at processing and comprehending the conceptual content of language have a distinct advantage when it comes to learning. On the other hand, students who struggle with grasping these concepts are at a clear disadvantage.
The Structure of Intellect assessment offers a one-of-a-kind approach to identifying and addressing various challenges. This comprehensive tool not only determines the root problem but also provides tailored solutions for improvement. From general academic difficulties to memory skills, reading comprehension, anxiety, following instructions, focus, and behavioral issues, thismethod covers it all. With its ability to target multiple areas, it ensures comprehensive and effective improvement.
